This was taken during a blizzard, on Christmas morning, 2017, with several times as I waited in the car for the perfect moment to get out to the location, when the lighthouse wasn't visible at all. With my cell phone in my pocket, and leaving the car running, I made a dash for it...fighting against these high winds, freezing temps and blowing snow.
I am a long-time lover of travel & landscape photography. I had a film camera when I was a kid and bought my first SLR camera, which I remember was a Nikon 2020. Once that was in hand, I took a class and remember walking around Balboa Park in San Diego, wondering at all it would do. Since then, my love of photography never died, but it (like many other things in life) went up and down in importance. When I worked for the cruise lines between 1987 - 1993, I traveled all over the world, and remember feeling then, that although I was traveling to amazing places, I only wished I could control the time of day and location, as I knew even way back then, how important lighting was.
